Bastille day and our blackberries!

6-30-14farm1

This past Monday was Bastille Day in France, the name given in English-speaking countries to the French National Day, which is celebrated on 14 July each year. In France, it is formally called La Fête nationale and commonly Le quatorze juille, .and our friend had a celebration for it. It was a potluck and we brought the Blackberries for the yummy crepes. I am unfamiliar with cooking berries so our friend helped with the seasoning. We placed the blackberries in a sauce pan and let them cook over medium heat until they boiled. Then, we sprinkled sugar and cinnamon. Once all the yummy juices and seasonings simmered for 10 minutes we mixed it with Marscapone. YUM!! Fried up the crepes and enjoyed! Love these blackberries. – Mandy
